Psychology Referrals

There are 3 common ways to see a psychologist: (1) with a GP or psychiatrist referral, (2) with a GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan, and (3) self referral.

  1. All referrals should be emailed to admin@fulhamconsulting.com.au. The referral may be addressed to a particular psychologist (including the independent psychologists') or generically, to “Psychologist at Fulham Consulting”.

  2. Once your referral (and if available, a MHTP) has been received, we will contact you to arrange an appointment, if your referral is accepted. Unfortunately, sometimes, we are unable to accept a referral for a number of reasons, such as, due to age, the nature of the presenting issues or lack of clinician availability. In cases where we can not accept a referral, the referral is returned to the referring doctor.

  3. We will correspond with the referral agent as clinically appropriate and in compliance with the MBS, DVA or other third party (e.g., WorkCover) reporting requirements.

Self Referral

Individuals may self-refer to a psychologist, without a referral or GP Mental Health Treatment Plan.  Full private fees apply and there is no Medicare rebate.  Some private health funds will cover psychology services and you should contact your health fund for more information.  Message us about what your are seeking help with and we will reply.

Psychiatry Referrals

Due to very high demand for services, we are not currently accepting new referrals for psychiatry.
